X Men 3, whey!

Wednesday, May 31st, 2006

Oh aye yes we went to see the blessed film today, it was majorly good in a mutanty battley kind of way, I enjoyed it much!! I won’t spoil it for those who haven’t seen it but bejesus, they killed off a few didn’t they? Dear Lord it was slightly upsetting but oh well! All in all a fine film, hehe I do love the cinema. The only thing I was dissapointed with was Wolverine’s distinct lack of witty comments! Where did his odd sense of humour go? I remember well, “You picked the wrong house, bub!” and in the 1st film (to Prof X) “So what do they call you? Wheels?” Pure comedy moments that were missing from the 3rd installement!! What happened to the scriptwriters? They tried to make it all serious and stuff, but in the end theres gotta be some light moments because it’s not really a serious thing, X Men. It’s just well fun! They’d better remember that next time. Heh

We saw a trailer for Pirates 2 and it looooooked AWESOME! Hot damn, I can’t wait for that bitch. Ahh Captain Jack, legend. He’s definitly in the I Would book, mwahah.

See you around bitches. Don’t do anything silly like sell your clothes, house, soul. Love from Crazy xxx

Family visits at the weekend

Tuesday, May 30th, 2006

The family rounds were done this weekend, well our family friends then my grandparents, wow East Anglia is so flat! It made me jealous, all the gardens were so flat and lawny. Silly Derbyshire and all its huge hilly hills! No spaces for tranpolines, or hot tubs, or pools. They were ten a penny in the ol’ East Anglia, I can tell you.

Visiting grandparents is so fun, in an old fashioned family way. Carboot sales, homemade food, walks, cups of tea every 5 seconds lol, ah it was great. We even did charity shop scrounging! MWaha!

Me and Tim started watching some new stuff he’d downloaded, lots of eps of a pure classic, Thundercats!! Which I had my doubts of at first but then I remembered the little Snarf character and it all came back to me! Ahh it’s so cheesy, and obviously the makers have tried to inject laods of moral into the storyline, its funny hehe. Also this other animated sketch show called Robot Chicken, it’s so facking hilarious ahahhahaaa

Anyhoo my dears I gotta go babysitting in a bit sooooo see ya later aligators xxx

Gig, Bluenote, Chips and Cheese

Saturday, May 27th, 2006

Was the agenda last night, all three of which were absolutely marvellous, the only complaint I have is the cheese wasn’t melted enough on my chips. But thats all! Everything else was beaut. There were several highlights, Rev Zeus played a pretty nice first gig at the Vic, promising stuff I thought. I liked the sampley bits, made the music that bit different from just guitar and vocal setup etc. I would pay to see them again, if ya lucky guys.

Another high point of the night was the wicked DJ at Bluenote, who seemed to read the crowd’s mind and played a lot of common ground excellent musique that everyone could dance to, it was wickedly wick. Ahh the best tracks were bloody Pendulum which I sooo did not expect to be played in Bluenote, and then there was some classic Muse and other good tracks and even a bit o Radiohead thrown in there!! So I was happy.

Me thinks my faith in Derby has been restored a bit, only in Bluenote and the Vic though. I don’t like a lot of places in Derby, ugh. Annnnyway, that about sums up my night, that was the short version. The long version involves explaining the back and forth trek across derby where we went standing order - the vic - the vines - first floor - bluenote. I swear I walked the same route about ten thou times. Poo!

Rightho I am off to think artistic thoughts about my project. By the way, having a few problems with the Gallery which is why there’s no new pics up on there, they’re all waiting to be put on but it’s broke sumhow! Much Love from Port

25th May: two important occasions

Thursday, May 25th, 2006

One, it’s Frag’s birthday. Happy Birthday Frag, we love you. Two, X Men 3 comes out today! Woop! Yes so two good things on one fine day. Huzzah. I am so annoyed that our nearest cinema is in such an unreachable place if you don’t have a car. Tut. I am insanely jealous of Tim who is always going to the cinema, stupid Birmingham and all it’s cinemas. But I will be the fool no longer, as I shall have the delights of Brum at my own disposal in a few months time. Ooh scary!!

Two other films I am reeeeeeeeeeeally looking forward to in the near future are Pirates 2, obviously, and also this crazy looking film called A Scanner Darkly, it looks so awesome! It’s sorta animated..but with real people in it. I think it was filmed normally then animation was put over the top of it. Very cool. It looks reet up me street, it does.

I made a bit of a desicion the other day to go to more gigs, particularly of bands that I actually like. Everyone seems to be going to their bands favourite gigs, so I want to too! I’m thinking Mars Volta and Radiohead. That’s if they haven’t split up or something :’( That will be a sad day, that will. Apparently Thom Yorke is doing a solo project though, so that shall be veeeery interesting, heh. He’s such a cute little wierdo! That’s why I love him. I’m feeling him as an I Would contender. Maybe. Lol

Oh this is scandalous. I just checked for Radiohead tours and they’re playing a gig with BECK supporting…in fucking Edinburgh!!!!!!! WHAT!! Why wasn’t I informed. All the tickets have sold out! And it’s at the bloody end of the world practically! This is terrible. They’d best be doing some sort of normal tour in the future. God! How much would I give to go to that gig. LOADS!!!!!

Storytelling

Wednesday, May 24th, 2006

Well, I’ve just finished writing the first page of my new story. I decided yesterday that I was going to do some writing, not nessecarily a book-long story but some sort of ripping yarn to see what I could come up with. And suprisingly it’s been easier than I thought! Heh. But no you can’t see it. I don’t know if it’s any good yet.. it’s just the introduction. But it’s a fantasy theme thing but it’s not cheesy. It’s gonna be cool. Hopefully!

I went to a really excellente gig on Monday, the line up was nicely done, all the bands were suited to each other but each one had something different to show. Yay. Best ones were Plans and Apologies and Mates of State which I had my doubts about at first but they’re actually really good. Worth the money!

I must go now will blog later Sayonara xx

Hilarious

Sunday, May 21st, 2006

Yes yes I watched Eurovision last night, I had nothing better to do! How sad. But IKEA had really tired me out. How funny is Terry Wogan? He kept making elusive references to needing large amounts of alcohol to get through the night, for example “I haven’t had a drink yet, but it’s only a matter of time.” LOL. Oh dear God though some of the entries..*shudder. Especially horrendous was Turkey’s entry. Mary Joseph and baby Jesus in the manger she was a complete wreck! Eurgh! Just thinking about her brings tears of horror to my eyes. Urrhhh. And what was with fecking Will&Grace lookalike hosts? And she wouldn’t stop saying ‘amazing’. Terrible, terrible hosting.

All in all a cringeworthy 3 hours, but the amount of laughs I got out of it made it all better. Ah dear.

Our entry wasn’t very good was it? That yellow jacket - sack the stylist.

Didn’t we have fun at IKEA yesterday. I couldn’t resist swiping something from the Kid’s section, in the form of a huge cuddly multicolour snake :D Heh heh. And I got a mirror and a patterny cushion for my room. Ohh and the best picture ever of a parrot that looks eeeexactly like Feathers. Couldn’t resist. Although I feel a bit bad that it’s not actually her. Heh.

Anyhoo I suppose I should go and do some drawing now. Lots of Love

Oh and still waiting for I Would suggestions..

Later. I just watched Doctor Who and it was the best episode yet. Go SFX!

IKEA here I come

Saturday, May 20th, 2006

Yes it’s that time of year again when one needs some Swedish flat-packed goodies. I myself quite enjoy the feeling of distraction when you’re walking around Ikea, it’s best not to resist it. Just let it suck you in and before you know it you’re got half the store in your hatchback. Lovely

Bad thing happened yesterday. I dropped my mp3 player and the touchpad stopped working. And some of the buttons. I am so entirely pissed off with myself for that. Dad is attempting to fix it but I dunno. The music still works, its all there, it’s just the controls aint hockey. :( I can’t afford to buy another one! This sucks.

We had a jolly time at Queen’s Head beer festival last night, I actually didn’t plan to go out at all then all of a sudden there I was. I tried some random pint of cider that tasted really nice at first then I realised about 3/4s of the way through it smelled of old cheese. Llololol. I was more confused that I didn’t even notice the smell at first. My nose had stopped working, probably. snigger

My mum acted like a TEENAGER last night, I feel dissapointed that she took my place in the immaturity ranking, I thought only I was allowed to have stupid fun? She went to a leaving party in the HOSPITAL Staff Room, where a group of 35+ year old lab staff proceeded to shout rude things over the tannoy system, then steal a laundry cage on wheels, made the boss sit in it then wheeled him out of the hospital, across the road, underneath the A38 underpass and into the PUB. WHAT THE HELL!

No fair!

Anyhoo messrs and messeses, i must depart for IKEA. wish me luck. Hey I need some of those eye patches like shire horses to block my peripheral vision, then I won’t get distracted by the crazy Swedish designs. Wooo!

Waving…drowning

Wednesday, May 17th, 2006

I am back. The reason I have not been around on this delightful blog is, well I don’t really like sitting down here on my own and the bird wouldn’t stop sqwuaking last week cos the ‘rents weren’t here. So I stayed mainly upstairs to keep the bird happy, and did not venture into the computer room. Like a complete wally, Feathers is behaving nicely now Mum and Dad are back. Little bitch. No matter.

Yes the house was so quiet last week (apart from Feathers). It was odd but not too bad. I cut my finger and thought it was going to bleed forever, thankfully it stopped after about half an hour, it was still nasty though. Stupid cheese wrappers. Why can’t they make them out of materials that you can open with your hands. Other incidents, the roof started leaking which I only noticed when it started dripping on my HEAD. Hehehe

Anyhoo, I got some new Ancient Greek Lover cards (hahaa) from the ‘rents so I foresee many drinking games with those. My other deck are all sticky and theres only about 40 left ahah..one too many games of that one with the glass in the middle. You know the one I mean, it’s coool

If you would like to leave a comment, please do. That means, leave a comment. I wonder if many people read this. I suppose it’s a bit random but I enjoy it.

ONE more thing! Me and Lauren have finally started compiling the ‘I Would’ book. Oh how do I explain it. Basically when you see someone hot and you’re like “I would.” Hahaaaaa! And now we’re putting all of those people into one huge book of Woulds. Such as Jack from Lost, Donnie Darko, Wolverine, and, against my better judgement, Locke from Lost. (NOTE: Locke is Lauren’s ‘I Would’, not mine.) It has long been a dream of ours and now yes it exists! If you can think of any worthy nominees for the I Would book, please leave them in the comments box.

Much Love from moi

Ambergate and it’s poor connections to the outside world

Wednesday, May 10th, 2006

All I want to do is go swimming today! But typical Ambergate can’t rustle up any real direct travel connections to the pool. Out of all the Godamn services the shit council provide, not one bus goes from Ambergate to the sports centre. I’ve searched through the timetables! Gah. I have been defeated. Of course I could get a bus into Belper and then walk to the Sports Centre from there but it’s quite a way, like half an hour!! Ugh.

And also, the public swimming sessions are slowly getting smaller and smaller. What is with that. One hour in the day and two hours in the evening. And the damn place is open from 9am til 9pm! Who takes up the other 9 hours of pool? Grrrrrrrr

Rant is over. I feel better now. I suppose I’d better go and make something useful of my day off.

Much love

Schtuff

Sunday, May 7th, 2006

So the ‘rents have buggered off to Greece, nice for them, nice for me cos I have the house all to myself. I can watch as much TV as I want without Mother saying “Naomi turn this crap off.” “What are you watching? Turn it off.” “What’s this American shit you’re watching Naomi.” “Naomi, you are a telly addict.”  “Turn the TV off please.” “Naomi can you empty the dishwasher instead of watching that crap.” Arr I’d say that was the one annoying thing about our family. We have a nice big TV and a nice slice o’ Sky but I’m not allowed to watch it 90% of the time! Heh.

I’ve accumulated 3 bruises from last night, I fell UP the garden steps at Emma Poll’s house and did my shins in, so I got identical lumps on both my legs. (Note: I wasn’t actually pissed at that point. Slightly worrying.) Then I sat on the sofa later and I scraped my back on the hard framey bit, half carpet burn half bruise I’d say. I just couldn’t stop bangin into things, relatively annoying.

In other news, I’m hatching another plan, this time to write my very own comic mwahahaa, I just read this really good one and now I’m feeling all creative, I just need a good storyline. Something fantasy-ish. I will ponder a while.     The major project’s going good, some more bits may be appearing on the Gallery soon. I’m worrying a bit that I’m going to run out of time, or I won’t have enough in my exhibition. Sure it’ll be ok though, just need to develop stuff quicker.

I suppose I’d better get back to le sketchbook then, be cool Â
