Pan’s Labyrinth
Oh my. It was really, really good. Wow! Probably the best film I’ve seen this year. You know when a film comes along and you know instantly that you’re going to love it, well that’s Pan’s Labyrinth for me. After seeing something so original and innovative, it makes you realise how much fucking shit comes out of Hollywood, God it should all be banned. It’s alright, I mean, all these blockbusters, superheroes, action, hot stars and all that, it’s fine but there’s so many poor quality films being made at the moment with shit acting, shit dialogue, shit shit shit direction, no original storylines, no original anything. And that pisses me right off! Then something like Pan’s Labyrinth comes along and it’s like…nothing I’ve ever seen before! Gosh it was beautiful. Gosh. It was violent, scary, bloody, and it had a magical faun in it for Christ’s sake! And fairies.. I never expected it to be so violent. On one hand you’ve got the Spanish Civil War and a fascist captain who likes to belittle his peers and torture his enemies, and running along side it you’ve got this gothic fairytale world with a faun named Pan and, and…it’s a propa juxtaposition, like. Hehe.
The end was very sad. Big fat metaphors, loved it.
There should be more films like this. x
